DECEMBER NEWS NOTES

New owners for 'October' #193 has been found and Steve & Molly have parted with her. She now is in Lake Michigan near Travers City sporting her recent awlgrip of Annapolis blue and gold. Her new owners, Ron & Dana Olm have her swinging on a mooring in front of their home. With their four children they should enjoy years of family sailing. Dana grew up sailing with her father Dan Daciuk, on their Alberg 37 ' Footloose II that he has owned since new. Coming from a large family, Dana has had a lot of family sailing experience to bring onboard their new family adventure.

Jim Johnson has completed his purchase of Lion's Paw and he & Irene have moved aboard. They've spent some time in Fort Lauderdale bringing systems from Rigging to Refrigeration up to their standards. I'm sure you'll enjoy meeting these new Whitby 42 adventurers. I believe they are going to spend some time this winter hanging out in the Bahamas.

Andrew and Louise Travill have acquired Hull #221 from Paul & Marie Marcoux. Shangri-la is now in Canada for updating and additions and next year will return south. Andy & Louise should be enjoying the Y2K threshold in the sunny climes with many of you Whitby 42 owners.

An Alberg 37 and 3 Whitbys brought to my attention this year had the magic 'Wish List' on board that was desired by clients who had made themselves known to me. On these occasions, as soon as I inspected the vessel, I was able to bring the Seller and the Buyer together. It doesn't always happen that way. Jim Johnson, the new owner of Lion's Paw had been working with me for nearly four years to yield the same result. We will continue to do our best for all parties who ask me to work with them. Some have long term plans to buy or sell while others are ready when we first communicate.

NEW LISTINGS: A 1981 Fort Myers Whitby is now up on the "Listings Page". She has cable steering and a wind-vane, a good compliment of sails and some unusual appointments. One of these features is that she has an inner staysail even though she is the conventional ketch rig. She is a one-owner vessel and has 'Atlantic Crossing Experience'. She will need a few upgrades and some overdue TLC but shows well below and radiates the care by her owners. Asking price is $110,000. U.S.

A 1983 was listed early fall and is having her bottom attended to this winter. Also there is a 1982 that is ready for a new owner. Both of these Canadian built Whitbys had lots of upgrades in the 90's including 1998.

Listings currently posted are for a WHITBY 55, an ALBERG 37, and a NIAGARA 42. A coloured pictorial and full inventory are available on the WEB now for all of these except the Alberg, which is soon to follow. See the Listing Page or fill in a form.

Other listings for well-found and maintained Whitbys & Brewers are needed. If yours is ready to make a new owner pleased, fill in a form and we will start the process to sell your vessel.
