Sturdy construction, dependable sea keeping, and traditional styling have long kept the Whitby line of 42-foot
offshore passagemakers a top choice of sailors looking for an affordable bluewater boat. With her spacious cockpit,
uncluttered side decks, ketch rig, and comfortable below decks living arrangement, HEATHER ANNE V is every inch a
Whitby 42 -- and then some. To make close-quarters maneuvering easier, she has a Side-Power bowthruster, with it's
own dedicated battery located in the forward cabin under the V-berth. It's one of two batteries there, the other
being reserved for the deck windlass. At the stern is a Hydrovane, a mechanical self-steering system that can
serve as an auxiliary or emergency rudder. HEATHER ANNE V is also equipped with a full complement of electronics,
including an ICOM802 SSB and Raymarine chartplotter and radar, her Onan 6KW diesel generator has accumulated fewer
than 200 hours of operation, she has just had her bottom repainted, and she'll convey with a RIB and 7HP outboard.
Anyone in the hunt for a Whitby 42 would be well advised to give HEATHER ANNE V more than passing consideration.
